Friendship Group

Hospitality Cluster

The St Kevin’s Friendship Group was formed by a group of parishioners about 15-20 years ago. Its primary purpose is to get seniors, carers, and lonely persons a chance to meet and socialise. Over the years through word of mouth and participation it has gained popularity and from a modest beginning of around 30 members it has now topped over 100! The committee of nine meet every month and plan an event/outing, if possible monthly. We start and end the year with an anointing mass and fellowship. Our once-a-year picnic, visitation to another church, and getting together to enjoy the ‘Christmas in July’ theme as well as end-of-year dinner plans are on the barbie! Readers & Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Worship Cluster

Lectors (Readers) and Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion are very important roles in the celebration of the Holy Mass that all baptized Catholics are called to serve. These liturgical services impel us to a deeper commitment to the Christian life, a richer faith and a more profound urgency to do what is right and good. As selfless, mature service, it requires proper disposition, ongoing training and continual conversion.

If you feel you are being called, please contact the George Iraheta at georgeiraheta@gmail.com or the Parish Office at HamptonPark@cam.org.au or 9799 2108

Sacristans

A sacristan is the coordinator for the Mass. The sacristan ensures the church is prepared for the celebration of the Eucharist, is responsible for the opening and closing of the church, and also coordinates with other ministers such as Readers, Eucharistic ministers, and collectors, helping to ensure the liturgy flows smoothly. Other duties include overseeing the cleanliness and tidiness of the church and surrounds, as well as ensuring the altar linen is attended to, and that there is an adequate supply of all church requisites.

We have a team of six sacristans for St. Kevin’s Church. Any enquiries may be made directly to Fr. Desmond or Fr. Anil
