We would like to gratefully acknowledge Dorothy’s contributions to our Parish, going back to the time when Dorothy was invited to be the Sacristan at St. Kevin’s Church by Father Brendan Lane and served loyally for around twenty years. She was also actively involved with the Social Group and the Friendship Group over the years.
At this time, we would also like to fondly recall a tribute to Dorothy that was published in the Parish Bulletin [Palm/ Passion Sunday – 25th March, 2018]
A Tribute to Dorothy Abeydeera
How many “Easters”, “Christmasses” and grand celebrations has Dorothy seen in St. Kevin’s Parish as Sacristan? The answer is “many”!! Since Dorothy was asked by Fr. Brendan Lane she has served in this role with outstanding devotion and fidelity. In my short experience here, I have found Dorothy always most helpful and quick to anticipate all that is required for the sacristy and our liturgies. It has been a marvellous service Dorothy has given to our parish. She now reaches her final Easter this year as Sacristan. At St. Kevin’s we pay our deepest gratitude to her. Grateful acknowledgement is made to the Leaumoana family for their willingness to undertake this valued role.
