Update on our Altar Server’s Commissioning Mass held on 14 Mar, 2021

What a joyful celebration it was to see our young children make a commitment to grow in their faith journey!

The mass was well attended by the children, their families and parishioners alike. Sitting in their reserved pews at the front of the church, our ‘soon-to-be’ altar servers actively participated in the Mass that was celebrated by Fr Des and Fr Anil. All our senior altar servers, who make up the Altar Server’s Committee and help with the training of these children, served at the Mass. Also present was our Altar Server ministry co-ordinator Martin Thomas, who is thrilled to have these 56 new servers join the ministry!

Towards the end of the celebration, the children were called up to the front of the altar and each one of them was given a special commemorative certificate and a little statue of St. Joseph as a symbolic token of gratitude from all of us as a Parish, for their willingness to answer the call to serve the Lord.

We now look forward to seeing all these enthusiastic, angelic faces regularly serving on the altar at our parish Masses and we trust that this is just the beginning of a long-term commitment that these children have made to the faith and to our Parish of St. Kevin’s! Congratulations again to these children and everyone involved for making this happen!

Here’s a slideshow of some photographs from the day that was put together by Fr Anil
