At the March PPC meeting, we decided to hold a walk in honour of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. Candice Vaz offered to lead the preparations. The Walk fulfilled 3 of our key focus areas: building connections, faith education and development, and building confidence in church attendance (following COVID). So it was wonderful to see over 100 parishioners accept the invitation as they gathered outside the church last Saturday for our inaugural Palm Sunday Vigil Walk. The Walk, which went along Fordholm Road, David Street, Andrew Street and Cairns Road, was 3.1km and took a little over an hour with 4 stops along the way for prayer and reflection on Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. It was a positive and uplifting start to our Holy Week celebrations. Many thanks to those who assisted in preparations and on the day. We are already looking forward to 2022, and eager to make this an annual event in our Parish.
