12-May-2020 Update: Easing of Restrictions

General Guidelines approved by Most Rev. Peter Comensoli

The easing of restrictions during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic now allows for us in St. Kevin’s Parish to open the church for the celebration of Mass on weekdays and to a small degree for private prayer. We will continue for the time being to have a recorded Mass for Sunday. At this time, we are limited to planning only for the month of May. We are also limited to 10 attendees only in the church at any one time.

Weekday Masses

  • Beginning this week, two masses (9:15am and 4:00pm) will be celebrated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
  • A maximum of 10 attendees are permitted to attend these masses.
  • Parishioners who wish to attend a Mass, are invited to register from Tuesday morning onwards in-person at the Church. The number 10 will be arrived at according to the order of contact, namely ‘first in, best dressed’! In the first instance, out of consideration for others, please register for only one Mass in the week.

Please note: Registrations will not be accepted via any of our online channels and weekday masses will no longer be broadcast on our YouTube channel.

Weekend Masses

Weekend masses are not yet open to the general congregation and will continue to be available on our YouTube channel by 8:00 AM on Sunday mornings.

Private Prayer in the Church

The church will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00am to 12 midday, and on Wednesdays from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.

Sacrament of Penance/Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Penance/Reconciliation can now proceed in the Reconciliation Room with a protective shield now in place. Confessions are heard on a Saturday morning between 9:45 AM and 10:30 AM.

General Safety and Social Distancing Guidelines

There will be door monitors to ensure the number of attendees does not exceed 10, and who will direct people to the hand sanitiser and Records Book to enter their first name, contact number, date and time. There will be a seating plan in the church to ensure that proper social distancing is maintained. Please observe the signs indicating the entry and exit points.

Please note: The Adoration Chapel and Grotto remain closed until further notice.
